Festival Associate Manager, Sundance Film Festival Industry Office

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Festival Associate Manager, Sundance Film Festival Industry Office (SIO) is charged with facilitating the Festival registration process and participation in both the online and in-person components of the Sundance Film Festival for industry members. This role requires clear writing and communication skills, the ability to efficiently prioritize tasks, a detail-oriented nature, problem solving, and a high level of customer support.

Working closely under the Assistant Director, Industry Relations, the Associate Manager will also provide administrative and operational support to the department and customer support to industry members.

This temporary position works full time (40 hours per week) from Monday, September 15, 2025 through Friday, February 13, 2026 and requires extended hours, including evenings and weekends to meet key deadlines and respond to on-call needs as assigned. The majority of this position’s work can be executed remotely out of any of our operating states, until the department comes together in Park City, UT in January to support the in-person elements of the Festival.

Top priorities include, but are not limited to...

  • Managing the department inbox, promptly responding to emails and organizing communications for escalation.

  • Maintaining email lists including ActiveCampaign audiences; processing bounce backs and email changes.

  • Developing, drafting, and sending all external department communications according to established timelines.

  • Coordinating the SIO membership application process, including sending out applications, conducting research, and routing reviews to the Assistant Director and Director.

  • Cross-training fellow seasonal employees on department workflows and systems.

  • Facilitating Festival registration for industry members, resolving registration issues, and maintaining knowledge of the internal registration systems.

  • Maintaining registration lists in Airtable and Google Sheets; updating and tracking order changes, cancellations, pass transfers, and the waitlist.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving registration issues, working collaboratively with other Institute departments when necessary.

  • Leading the administration of Industry Alliance (a corporate advancement program) benefits, including registration and ticketing.

  • Supporting sales agent registration and ticketing.

  • Acting as a liaison for the SIO team with other internal departments, fielding questions and handling the distribution of SIO documents and information to internal departments as necessary.

  • Maintaining and updating member resources (attendee list, screening schedules, film contact list).

  • Auditing physical passes against registration order lists in preparation for onsite distribution.

  • Organizing group pickups of credentials for designated companies.

  • During the Festival, providing timely customer support to members engaging in in-person and online Festival activities, troubleshooting where possible and working with customer/tech support as needed.

  • Finalizing department materials after the Festival ends.

  • Preparing post-Festival mailing lists for offseason communications.

  • Completing a comprehensive written wrap report.

You have the following direct or transferable skill sets:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • 3 years operational, administrative, and customer support related experience.

  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required to work effectively with a variety of people.

  • Ability to collaborate across various internal teams and external contacts.

  • Exceptional organizational skills including the ability to track a multitude of details.

  • Maintain discretion and handle confidential information with care and professionalism

  • Proficiency in Google Products necessary.

  • Working knowledge of ActiveCampaign or other email marketing software preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Airtable and/or relational databases is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the independent film industry is preferred.
