Festival Coordinator, Security Operations (Seasonal role)

Location: Park City , UT
Department: Safety

Employment Dates:††Monday, December 2, 2019 thru Friday, February 14, 2020

Pay rate: $15.75 per hour

Considerations: This position works full time out of our Park City, UT office. Required to work extended hours, including some evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet deadlines. Must be willing and available to respond to on-call needs as assigned. A high level of mobility is required as well as an ability to drive safely in winter road conditions.

Position Summary: Coordinates and facilitates security operations during the Sundance Film Festival.

Duties and Responsibilities:†

  • Maintains master timelines related to security operations, including tracking changes to timeline and communicating updates to stakeholders.†

  • Updates, develops and facilitates trainings and quick reference manuals as directed.††

  • Manages security vendor(s) and their schedules and communicates updates to stakeholders.

  • Reviews security and emergency plans for all venues, theatres, and offices to ensure each plan is updated with accurate information.†

  • Partners with Coordinator, Safety Operations to schedule individual meetings with Venue, Theatre and Event managers to review security and safety needs.†

  • Ensures final security guard packets and schedules are completed by Venue, Theatre and Event Managers by the appropriate deadline.†

  • Ensures Festival security guard packets and associated training materials are distributed to security vendors.†

  • Assists Manager, Festival Operations with various security needs, including monitoring TACAMO radio channel, attending red-flag events, scheduling and performing walkthroughs, etc.

  • Conducts daily onsite visits to Theatres, Venues, Events and other guard locations.†

  • Manages the security guard sign in/out process and forms.

  • Completes a post Festival inventory of security materials.

  • Writes a comprehensive wrap report, as directed.†

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • Valid driverís license and successful completion of DMV background check.

  • 1-2 years experience in venue or event safety or security operations.

  • Conflict resolution skills with a background that includes managing stressful situations.†

  • Outstanding communication skills, verbal and written.

  • Strong interpersonal and professional skills required to work effectively with a variety of people.†

  • Excellent organizational skills including self management of work schedule.

  • Must be able to maintain confidential information.†

  • Ability to work nights and weekends around events and key deadlines.†

  • Able to stand and walk for long durations 12+ hours a day.

Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Experience facilitating trainings for large groups.

  • Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products.

  • Knowledge of Park City and Salt Lake City.†
