Coordinator, Feature Film Program

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Department: Feature Film Program

Considerations: Position works full time in our Los Angeles, CA office.

Position General Summary: Coordinate outreach, tracking, application process and submission review for Feature Film Program Labs, Intensives, and Fellowships; responsible for updating program materials including databases, Lab books, and website.

Essential Job Duties and Functions:

  • Tracks, coordinates, and supports US outreach efforts and submission review for Development Track and Post-Production Track applications. Updates and distributes internal tracking lists when required for departmental meetings.

  • Specific to Development Track, coordinates weekly meeting schedule, communication with outreach consultants, script reader assignments, and tracking documents for named fellowships (Asian American, Latinx, Comedy Central, and Sloan).

  • Handles independent contract process for all development and post-production track readers and reviewers; tracks and processes all reader/reviewer invoices for budget approval.

  • Provides additional support for reading and watching development track, post-production track, and catalyst submissions.

  • Coordinates the process for building the development and post-production tracks, Directors Lab, and Knight Intensive applications in SurveyMonkey Apply.

  • Database management - enters and updates key artist, advisor, industry, and project information in NetSuite to ensure accuracy. Responds to requests for data sets (e.g. alumni lists, project history, etc.) as needed.

  • Coordinates Lab book process for Screenwriters & Directors Labs, Screenwriters Intensive, & FilmTwo. Serves as FFP liaison with Marketing to organize processes for updating synopses, participant bios, and annual pages, etc.

  • Supports the planning and execution of Los Angeles-based program events, including screenplay readings, Screenwriters Intensive, & FilmTwo.

  • Reviews new drafts and rough cuts of alumni projects as directed.

  • Monitors FFP section of the website to ensure the information is current and accurate. Work with webdesk as needed to make updates.

  • Support FFP granting program by coordinating the grant reporting process. Duties include tracking report timelines, report solicitation and collection.

  • Provides general administrative and operational support for Labs Director and Associate Director as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

  • 2 years administrative support, project coordination or similar experience.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording, tracking and issuing information, etc.

  • Outstanding communication skills, telephone, written and interpersonal skills required to work effectively with a wide variety of people.

  • Working knowledge of databases along with proficiency in Google Products. Knowledge of NetSuite a plus.

  • Excellent organizational skills including self-management of work schedule ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to maintain confidential information.

  • Ability to work nights and weekends around events and key deadlines.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Film, Cinema or related field.

  • Strong interest in and knowledge of independent film.

  • Experience evaluating feature screenplays in development and writing coverage.
